Naturally Antiseptic Black Soap Beauty Mask

Our naturally antiseptic black soap beauty paste is made with 100% natural ingredients, and it is a smooth paste of Baraka black soap crumbs, hot water, neem oil, baobab oil and cocoa powder. The black soap is made by hand at the Konjeihi Women's Enterprise Centre in Wa, Ghana. You can apply it as a mask, leave on for 30 minutes and then wash off.

Traditional Baraka Black Soap with its high concentration of Shea Butter and Coconut Oil, combined with Neem Oil is known for its ability to keep skin soft, smooth, happy and healthy.

Traditional use suggests Neem and Baobab Oil have antiseptic, anti-fungal, antibacterial and anti-oxidizing properties, and this beauty paste adds them, along with their ability to help with deep cleansing and lock in moisture.

Ancient Mayans may have been the first to learn that Cocoa Powder gave skin a youthful glow, and it has long been used traditionally on acne-prone skin.

HOW TO MAKE OUR NATURALLY ANTISEPTIC BLACK SOAP BEAUTY PASTE

DIRECTIONS

1. Put black soap crumbs into a bowl large enough to hold all the ingredients with lots of room left for mixing. 
2. Break up any large crumbs - the smaller the crumbs, the faster the water will dissolve and it will turn into a smooth paste
3. Add the hot water and mix thoroughly with a wooden spoon, cover and leave it in a warm place (the warmer it is, the faster the soap and water will turn into a paste)
4. If you are in a rush, you can put everything into a double boiler and use a mixer to blend it while it heats
5. When it is a nice, smooth paste, add the neem oil, baobab oil, cocoa powder and any of the optional ingredients you want
6. Mix thoroughly to ensure even distribution. Use a handheld whipper if you want

PACKAGING

1. Get your containers ready (we suggest 8.5 fl oz (250 ml) or 17 fl oz (500 ml) containers but use whatever works best for you)
2. You can either scoop the black soap beauty paste into the containers or put it all into a large plastic bag, cut the corner off and then squeeze the bag forcing the contents in the containers

HOW TO USE

Use daily or as needed by:

1. Apply a thin later to your face and neck, leave on for 30 minutes and then wash off
2. Use it as a spot treatment for acne, blemishes and problem spots

OPTIONAL INGREDIENTS 

• Turmeric powder: Add a pinch of turmeric, which is traditionally used on acne-prone, eczema-prone and psoriasis-prone skin and is traditionally valued for its anti-inflammatory properties
• Ginger powder: Add a pinch of ginger powder, traditionally used for skin rejuvenation, skin cleansing and acne-prone skin, and many people report it helps fade scars
• Chile pepper powder: Add a pinch of pepper powder, traditionally used to facilitate skin detox and for acne-prone skin. The capsaicin in the pepper is traditionally known to aid in reducing irritations, soothe dry and itchy skin plus promote blood flow
• Sugar: Sugar can be added to increase exfoliation as you scrub the mask off
