The list is endless and goes beyond the marketed “anti-aging” benefits that we often see associated with Shea Butter.
High end skin care products can be pricey, and while we may feel the need to purchase them in order to see results, you can use their key ingredients and make your own skincare products at home!
One of the leading industry base ingredients is Shea Butter, and while economical separately, companies market it inside pricey eye creams and body moisturizers.

Shea Butter Lip Balm
Do your lips often feel like the Mojave desert … dry and cracked! Give this recipe for Shea Butter Lip Balm a try and feel the results!
Ingredients:
1 ounce Baraka Shea Butter
1 ounce beeswax
1 ounce coconut oil
1 teaspoon honey 15 drops of lemon essential oil
Directions: Place water inside a medium pot. Place a smaller pot inside and turn on medium heat. Add Shea Butter, beeswax, and coconut oil to the small pot and allow all ingredients to melt. Once melted, turn off stovetop. Whisk in raw honey and lemon balm. Lastly, transfer into small chapstick tubes or tins. Allow lip balm to cool for 1 hour and you’re ready to use it!

Shea Body Butter
The skin is the largest organ in our body. Oftentimes, we forget that everything we put on our skin can easily be absorbed into our bloodstream (yikes). That is why it is best to use natural products for all-over body lotions, we promise you will likely be floored with how supple your skin feels after using this Shea Body Butter.
Ingredients:
1 cup Baraka Shea Butter
1/2 cup coconut oil
1/2 cup almond oil
Directions: Melt Shea Butter and coconut oil in the top of a double boiler. Remove from heat and let cool for 30 minutes. Then, whip until a butter-like consistency is achieved. This should only take a few minutes. Add almond oil in the end and let sit.. voila!

Shea Butter Hair Milk
Perfect for unmanageable and unruly tresses, this hair milk can be used to calm frizz and prevent split ends, leaving your hair feeling softer and bouncier!
Ingredients:
1 cup Baraka Shea Butter
3 tablespoons coconut milk
2 teaspoons sweet almond oil
1 teaspoon raw honey
1 teaspoon aloe vera gel
1 teaspoon vitamin E oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
Directions: Mix the ingredients together in a food processor or blender and section off your hair. Next, slather it on your strands from their roots to ends. When the whole process is done, tie up your hair with a hair clip and wrap with a baggy to trap heat. Leave it on for about 30 minutes or overnight (if you can sleep with it on) to see instant results!

Shea Eye Cream
Your Eye Cream should contain more beneficial ingredients than harmful ones. That is why we recommend you try making your own. You need a rich and creamy under-eye cream that can restore elasticity and moisturize effectively.
Ingredients:
2 tablespoon of Shea Butter
1 teaspoon of beeswax
1 teaspoon of rosehip oil
4 drops of geranium essential oil

Directions: Combine all of the ingredients together, except for the geranium essential oil and rosehip seed oil into a mason jar. Fill a pot on the stove halfway with water, and place the mason jar into the water. Place on medium heat for about 6 minutes, or until contents are melted. Mix the contents of the jar every minute. Once melted, pour the mixture in a small mixing bowl and let it cool for 5 minutes before stirring in the essential oil. Scoop the mixture into a glass jar or lip balm container.
