Kombo Butter and Baraka Impact Interview

Learn how Baraka has partnered with NCRC (Nature Conservation Research Centre) to develop the Kombo Nut as an income generation and ecosystem conservation activity for women and families in Ghanaian villages.

Kombo Butter, which has amazing pain relief and other natural qualities, is made from the seed/nut of the Kombo Tree.  The Kombo Tree grows naturally in cocoa forests, producing shade and supporting ecosystem diversity and conservation.  Despite its amazing properties, logistics, cost, remoteness, and other factors have prevented it from becoming well known and utilized in North America and Europe.

Baraka has partnered with Ghana’s Nature Conservation Research Centre to begin the process of commercializing Kombo Butter and making it available to the global market in a way that maximizes social, economic and environmental impact in the communities where it is sourced.

You can see a post and recipe on Kombo Butter from Aromahead.com here https://medium.com/@aromahead/relieve-joint-pain-naturally-essential-kombo-joint-relief-butter-c152f4066a9c

What we hope you take away from this post more than anything is that you impact women, families and communities when you buy shea butter and that it is important to know the source of your shea butter.

It is so easy to have ‘raw and unrefined’ shea butter that was industrially processed, chemically extracted and all the income and impact ripped from the women and given to the factory. See more in this blog https://barakasheabutter.com/sheabutter_blog/unrefined-and-raw-shea-butter/

All Baraka products are harvested and hand processed by women in rural Ghanaian villages using age-old traditions and techniques. It is core to traditional life and to their economic well-being.

You make a difference with every purchase from Baraka, or from people who make products with Baraka Shea Butter.

It has a direct impact on hard-working women and their families.
