It’s that time of the year again… pumpkin season! The true mark of fall is… Pumpkin spice and everything nice, please. We thought it would be fun to share a few pumpkin-inspired skincare DIYs!
Pumpkin Spice Face Mask
1/2 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon pumpkin puree
1 tablespoon ground coffee
1 teaspoon Baraka Shea Butter
Mix the dry ingredients together and add the pumpkin, shea butter, and honey. Stir until all have mixed, it should be thick on a spoon! Voila, it’s that easy. You can now apply the mixture to your face. Wait 20 minutes until the mask hardens, and then rinse. Use within 7 days and keep in a cool location.
Pumpkin Spice Body Scrub
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup organic canned pumpkin (or homemade pumpkin puree)
¼ cup Baraka Shea Butter
Mix the sugar, nutmeg, and cinnamon together, and add pumpkin. Melt shea butter and add to mixture. Continue stirring and let it cool. Place in glass jars of choice.
Scrub skin in circular motions and rinse. Use within 7 days and keep in a cool location.
Toasted Pumpkin Chapstick
2 tablespoons organic Baraka Coconut Oil
2 tablespoons beeswax pellets
1/2 teaspoon cocoa butter, grated
1/4 teaspoon toasted pumpkin seed oil
1 drop therapeutic grade clove essential oil
2 drop therapeutic grade cinnamon bark essential oil
1 drops therapeutic grade nutmeg essential oil
6 chapstick tubes
Combine the coconut oil, beeswax, and cocoa butter, microwaving on high for around 80 seconds. Add the essential oils of choice and mix together. Pour melted lip balm into chapstick containers, and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
So as you can see, pumpkins are NOT just for eating. 🙂 Happy Fall friends!
