Brown Sugar Citrus Scrub Shea Butter

Shea Butter scrub with a zing of citrus, is a fab recipe for making your skin super soft.  Use it from your toes to your nose and all parts in between for happy, healthy skin.

It can be used all over the body, and is soft enough to use on the face. It has a great aroma, and its gentle polishing effect removes old surface skin cells, and helps keep wrinkles at bay [1]. This action not only enables moisturizers to penetrate more deeply, it also works to clear any blocked pores.

Ingredients

  • Shea Butter
  • Orange essential oil
  • Brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Slightly warm the Shea Butter and add a drop of orange essential oil and half a teacup or less of brown sugar. Bear in mind that this can be for one or two treatments, so work out how much you need accordingly.
  2. Apply the Shea Butter Brown Sugar Citrus Scrub with your hands once a week while you are showering, of just before you get in the bath. As you put it on, use a massaging action. Avoid putting it on close to the eye area.

(Note: this scrub keeps for around a week, so you could make a batch for two treatments).

  1. Whoa!!!
And as it melts it becomes very slippery and dangerous, so this should be mixed with some liquid soap so that there is more traction in the shower, and less likelihood of slipping!

Also, unless they are folded, bergaptine-free essential oils, the citruses are phototoxic, so this scrub should not be used before going out in the sunlight, and may be contraindicated with certain cancer drugs.

    1. Thanks for sharing. You seem very knowledgeable. We always recommend a good shea butter based after shower lotion, butter or balm and always encourage everyone to take proper sun screening precautions
